Fainting

This morning was interesting. I usually wake up at 4:30 am to go to swim team, which starts at 5:15. My alarm went off and I got out of bed and packed all my stuff in my swim team bag. Then I got back and in bed and thought "I can sleep for like 15 more minutes". But when I woke up it was 5:10 and so I got out of bed and ran upstairs two by two and was like "Mom, should I go, or should I not". And I felt really dizzy and then next thing I knew my head felt like it was going to explode!!!!!! She said she heard a huge thunk and then heard me scream and start crying. My mom walked me back down to bed and I didn't go swimming after all. Its been like a year since I last fainted.
What's your fainting story?

deary....do you need help? lol, I'm just kidding!! that's so awful!! I'm glad that's never happened to me.

You got up too fast.

When you get up to fast, the blood sorta rushes from your brain to the lower parts of your body because of the force. Since there isn't as much blood for the brain, you just sorta get dizzy and things sorta go dim, or sometimes, pass out. It all depends on how fast you get up from w/e position you're in. Whether you're laying down, or sitting up.

I used to faint a lot. I faint from sharp pain (shots or ears pierced), from thinking about strange scary medical stuff (like the first time I heard about sucking out poison from a snake bite), and even watching a dog get an IV! And yeah, fainting has a lot to do with not enough blood in your brain. Now days I avoid fainting when thinking strange scary medical stuff or when thinking about the fact my sister just fainted (from heavy exertion and lack of food in a hot stuffy place) by putting my head between my knees and finding ways to get cooler if the room is warm.

I made myself faint one time... :) If anyone wants to pay me I'll do it for you. ;)
Oh, and when I got my knee stitched up at ECHO last year I was definitely feeling light-headed - that was really painful - not the stitching, but the pre-stitching, when they were digging asphalt and rock shards out of my open wound and then stapping me continuosly with a needle or something (I think 'twas like 12 times or so). Wow - I wouldn't recommend doing that if you can help it. Anyways - talk to you later, Ellie!
God Bless,
-Allen
