Sweet Sixteen

So here I sit. Yesterday was my 16th birthday. I cannot even explain, I have felt so loved in the past several days. Friday night I had an ice-skating party, a lot of the people I had invited couldn't come and I was worried about how it would turn out, but to my surprise those who came made me feel so special. Sara, Bekah, Laura and Jessica took me out to dinner as a surprise, but the best surprise was Sara coming home for my birthday because she had told me before that she couldn't. Then yesterday - Saturday - my family took me to a movie and out to dinner downtown. We saw "The end of the spear", the story of Nate Saint, Jim Elliott and those who were killed trying to share the gospel. This birthday made me realize that I have so much to be thankful for, I just don't always see and I get caught up in my own selfishness.

Verses of the post:
"You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."
- 1 Peter 2:9

Quote of the post:
"Born to be wild - live to outgrow it." - Unknown

The penguin is called that because apparently it makes a sound like that of a donkey :-)

This is from Nathaniel; somehow it won't let me comment as anything but Anonymous.

I am glad you had a good birthday! It was so cool the way it worked out that I could come home after all!
