WorldView

I take a WorldView class every Friday afternoon. The past two weeks we've been reading "Know Why You Believe" by Paul Little. We've been discussing all the questions non-believers have and how to respond to them! One of the chapters is titled "Why does God allow suffering and evil." Our dilemma is:
Either God is all-powerful but not all-good and therfore doesn't want to stop evil... or : God is all good but unable to stop evil; therefore He is not all powerful.
A Christian Response: (I love this)
"One reason sin and suffering flourish, results from sin's being treated like a cream puff instead of a rattlesnake. "
That makes me think... so I thought I share it. Please comment.

That is a great quote!! :-D I've never heard it, but I love it! WE haven't gotten there in W/V yet. It's a hard topic...be glad you have all RPers in your group, though! ;-) Well, I'll see you tomorrow for the wonderful debate! Should be interesting...I'm kinda nervous! :-/

Well I love you and I'll see you in Biology!!

What is good? Is it stoping evil? Wouldn't that be justice? The question should be "If God is all just, why aren't we dead yet?" But that is just because He is also good (merciful) and allows us to have many chances to accept His salvation.

I agree with you Josh... that's a much more blunt way to put it!

Love the quote - and agree with the thinking... far too often, we DO view sin as a bump in the road when, in reality, it can be a mountain! I am a music and worship director at my church and the developer of christian products for children - for sunday school, vbs, homeschool, etc. visit my site at www.dandykat.com and, once there, you can link to my music and worship blog - read, write, review!
